Tiggo 4 range leads the way as Chery South Africa records another strong month in sales

  • Tiggo 4 range dominates sales with 1,725 units, ranking as South Africa’s third best-selling passenger vehicle in October 2025.
  • Consistent demand sees 4,889 Tiggo 4 range units sold in Q3 2025, reinforcing its popularity among local motorists.
  • Chery’s hybrid momentum grows, with the Tiggo Cross CSH Hybrid now one of South Africa’s best-selling electrified vehicles.

October 2025 proved to be another standout month for Chery South Africa, with the Chinese automaker recording cumulative sales of 2,210 units. The Tiggo 4 range lineup led the charge, accounting for 1,725 units and ranking as the third best-selling passenger vehicle in the country for the month, outperforming several established rivals.

The Tiggo 4 lineup (which comprises the Tiggo 4 and Tiggo Cross models) offers 13 derivatives across entry-level, commercial, and hybrid variants, giving it broad appeal. This variety, coupled with strong value for money, continues to resonate with South African motorists. With a starting price of R269,900, the Tiggo 4 Cross provides an accessible entry point into the Chery family without compromising on luxury and convenience features or safety.

“We’re thrilled that the Tiggo 4 range continues to capture the imagination of South African motorists,” commented Jay Jay Botes, General Manager for Chery South Africa. “This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering vehicles that combine advanced technology, striking design, and exceptional value. The Tiggo 4 range embodies everything Chery stands for—quality, innovation, and a genuine understanding of our customers’ needs.”

Sales of the Tiggo 4 lineup have remained consistently strong, with 1,727 units sold in September 2025, 1,568 in August, and 1,604 in July. Third-quarter sales reached an impressive 4,899 units, underscoring sustained demand for the compact crossover.

Introduced this year, the Tiggo Cross CSH Hybrid has quickly become one of South Africa’s best-selling electrified vehicles, recording 122 units sold in August 2025. This comes as no surprise, as the HEV—with a combined fuel consumption figure of 5.4L.100 km—remains the country’s most affordable hybrid, at R439,900.

As for the rest of the lineup, the newly introduced, top-of-the-range Tiggo 9 registered 41 units in September 2025, while the Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 7 achieved 121 and 323 units, respectively, highlighting Chery’s growing momentum across multiple segments.
